I'm personally more of a Vlog guy. I keep up to date with Ray William Johnson, Mystery Guitar Man, and Brett Erlich's Viral Video Film School. Each are hilarious, but each offer different things. Mystery Guitar Man is insanely talented and each of his videos astound me. They're pretty funny too. Ray William Johnson is equal parts funny and up to date on things. Brett Erlich is the funniest out of the three and always surprises me with how clever his jokes are in each of his videos.
I've thought about starting up a vlog like them, but i doubt i'd ever do it. I'm camera shy enough as it is, so i'm pretty sure it wouldn't work out. A blog is as good for me. I just need to start utilizing it more often. Ideally i'd get a good amount of people reading, but i don't know if i'd want the amount of success that Boing Boing has. I never even heard of the site until about a week ago, but apparently millions of other people have. More power to them for having gotten that many people and i congratulate them, but it seems to me like even though you do have the same control as you do with barely any readers, the more readers you have, the less control you'll have over it. Which i guess how Boing Boing posts only for themselves and the other people that work for it stuff they think they'd like is a pretty cool thing. I would definitely love to have a blog where i do something i love (talk about music for instance) be a primary source of income like Boing Boing has done. Mad props to them for that.
